AbstractNablus roads suffer from different pavement distresses such as Alligator, Block, Longitudinal (Linear), Transverse, Edge, and Joint Reflection Cracks, Deformations, etc. These problems are negatively affected road users such as drivers and pedestrians, and consequently may cause traffic accidents. The case study includes four major city roads in the western region with a total length of about 6.50 km. The Pavement Condition Index was calculated using the ASTM conventional method by dividing the roads into equal 100 m section length. After that, the PCI was calculated for each point of distress on the roads. The objective of this research is to use different interpolation methods utilizing GIS software such as IDW, Spline, Trend and Kriging in order to evaluate the PCI. The results of the four methods are then compared with the values of the PCI calculated by the conventional method. The results reveal that Spline method gives the more accurate results and interpolation in terms of minimum error value. The study is expected to help in identifying the sections or points on roads that need priority in maintenance. Moreover, the future cost of the action and maintenance treatment applied are expected to be calculated easily for each section.
